Featured pictures

Featured pictures are images that the community has chosen to be highlighted as some of the finest on Commons. This page is a gallery of the various pictures - photographs, computerised graphics, animated media, etc. There are currently 4,178 of such images in the Commons repository which is roughly 0.03% of the available images. You can find all featured pictures in a category called Featured pictures on Wikimedia Commons.

Images may be considered for featured status by being listed at Commons:Featured picture candidates, where the community will reach a consensus. Further instructions and information is given at the page itself. You can also see some of our highly skilled contributors; our photographers and our illustrators, who have contributed to the Featured Pictures of the Commons.
